One of the things we love most about The Patch is that every season has its own rhythm. If you’re looking for seasonal events in Southern Illinois, these are our signature event days—what they are, what to expect, and when they typically happen.

Fern Day (Spring)

Fern Day is a spring favorite and one of those days people plan for. It’s a great time to shop, get inspired, and kick off the growing season.

  • Typical timing: Spring (usually April)


Mum Day (Late Summer)

Mum Day is a late-summer tradition and the perfect bridge between summer and fall. It’s when the fields start showing off serious color—and it’s one of the best times to grab mums and start thinking about fall decorating.

  • Typical timing: First Saturday in September


Fall Season Opening (Pumpkin Season)

Fall opening day is the start of our busiest, most loved season. If you want the full Patch fall experience—pumpkins, hayrides, corn maze, and all the autumn vibes—this is when it begins.

  • Typical timing: Third Saturday in September


Christmas Tree Season (Late Fall)

Christmas tree season kicks off in late November, and timing can shift a bit depending on how Thanksgiving falls in a given year.
